Chamber Mosaic

20 October 2026, 19.00-21.00

Solti Hall

Chamber Mosaic Presented by Liszt Academy

Joint concert by the Chamber Music Department and the Jazz Department

Movements from works by Haydn, Beethoven, Schumann, Liszt, Poulenc, Janáček, and Prokofiev, as well as jazz improvisations

Featuring: students of the Jazz Department and Chamber Music Department of Liszt Academy

In this collaborative performance by the Liszt Academy’s Jazz and Chamber Music Departments, fleeting character pieces and movements are woven together with drumless jazz improvisations. Performed by the university students, the music flows seamlessly from one piece to the next, almost as if an algorithm had curated a playlist on a streaming app.

However, there is a deliberate artistry behind the flow: the heads of the two departments, Kristóf Bacsó and Balázs Fülei – both known for their innovative musical vision – have meticulously scripted the evening alongside their students. Together, they have arranged these diverse musical “mosaics” to reveal a fresh and unexpected picture for the audience.
