It is a rare and remarkable occasion when three giants of the international concert stage – Veronika Eberle, Steven Isserlis, and Dénes Várjon – share the spotlight. In this trio, we find not just three world-class soloists, but three quintessential chamber musicians whose collaboration promises a musical dialogue of the highest order. Eberle’s lyrical violin, Isserlis’s globally celebrated and deeply expressive cello, and Várjon’s intellectual yet powerful piano artistry form the ideal combination for the dense, rich textures of Johannes Brahms.

The programme showcases the multifaceted nature of Brahms’s oeuvre through varying instrumental configurations. The first half features the lyrical Violin Sonata in A major and the sweepingly energetic Cello Sonata in F major. The evening then reaches its climax with the monumental Piano Trio in C minor.

Enhancing this exceptional programme is the participation of Izabella Simon, who frequently performs with the concert’s artists and other world-renowned musicians, and who joins the artists before the interval for a performance of the popular Hungarian Dances, presented in Friedrich Hermann’s unique arrangement for violin, cello, and piano four-hands.
