New Year's Opening Concert 2027

In recent years, music lovers have welcomed the New Year with the joint New Year's concert presented by the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, MTVA and the Liszt Academy on the evening of 1 January. What began as an initiative has now become a cherished tradition, featuring popular orchestral works and excerpts conducted by some of Hungary's finest maestros. Over the years, audiences have welcomed the New Year with distinguished conductors including Tamás Vásáry, János Kovács, Ádám Medveczky, Oliver von Dohnányi, Gábor Káli, Domonkos Héja and Róbert Farkas, while also enjoying performances by the outstanding young talents of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. On the first day of 2027, the concert of sparkling, uplifting melodies will be conducted by Máté Hámori.

Thanks to the cooperation of MTVA, the concert will be broadcast live on Hungary's public television and radio channels.
