Conductor: Charles Dutoit

Swiss conductor Charles Dutoit has enjoyed a particularly successful career: he was a music director in Montreal for 25 years and chief conductor in Philadelphia, Paris, Tokyo and London for years. It was a great honour for MÁV Symphony Orchestra that the conductor accepted our invitation in 2019 and has since headed our orchestra in Budapest on two further occasions. He will come again in 2022 with a programme that is excitingly diverse. According to the maestro, a piece of Mozart is a must, for he is especially drawn to Mozart’s music. The common feature of the other three pieces is the richness of colours, whether a seaside view, the treasures of the Eternal City or the fairy tale land of the Orient.
