In the past two years, music lovers have been able to launch the New Year in style at a joint concert by the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and Liszt Academy on the evening of 1 January. The concerts, broadcast by public service TV and radio stations, featured popular works of music under the batons of Hungary’s top conductors. First, Tamás Vásáry, then János Kovács conducted the ensemble and gifted young artists of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. Things will be no different this year: on the first day of 2022, a bouquet of rousing melodies is performed under the direction of Ádám Medveczky, Kossuth Prize conductor (and teacher at the Liszt Academy) with the entire concert once again being broadcast by public service stations.
