András Kemenes earned a degree in piano at the Liszt Academy in 1982 as a student of Pál Kadosa, Ferenc Rados and György Kurtág. He completed graduate studies at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, and then in Dresden, where he studied under Prof. Amadeus Webersinke. Since 1991 he has been a teacher of piano at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. He regularly performs together with pianist Gábor Csalog, their repertoire including the four-hand and two-piano compositions of Mozart, Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Debussy, Ravel, Stravinsky and Kurtág. This time his chamber music partner will be his young colleague and former student, János Palojtay, who was accepted at the Preparatory Class of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music at age 13, and graduated from the Liszt Academy in Spring 2011. He continued his piano studies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and then at the Stuttgart University of Music. He has also participated in master classes held by Dmitry Bashkirov, Murray Perahia, Ferenc Rados and András Schiff. He has won several awards in domestic and international music competitions, including the third place in the 2012 Paloma O´Shea Piano Competition in Santander, one of the world's most prestigious contests.
