This Californian vocal ensemble based in San Francisco is a regular and popular guest on the concert scene in Budapest: twelve cheerful men, masters of a cappella singing. The name they chose was taken from the singing cockerel in The Canterbury Tales by Chaucer. The themed concert covers all the stations – from sweet dalliance to heated dispute – of the millennium of interaction between the two sexes. She said/He said is a dialogue stretching from Renaissance madrigals to Cole Porter and Maurice Ravel: variations on an eternal theme. The particular feature of the compilation is that the female principle, the female message is intermediated by works of a few female composers of exceptional talent towards an audience of both sexes.
