Chopin composed his E minor piano concerto at the age of just 20, in 1830. It still has the power to entrance audiences due to its waves of emotions and astonishing compositional imagination. Tchaikovsky’s B-flat minor piano concerto has been a popular masterpiece ever since its massively successful debut in Boston in 1875. Its Romantic disposition, overwhelming power, the dynamism of youth knowing no barriers and the bold use of contrasts combine to provide an exceptional musical experience both for performer and audience alike.
