Cappella Gabetta (artistic director: Andrés Gabetta, concertmaster:Vadym Makarenko)

In the last quarter of the past century, there was a sharp divide between musicians playing Baroque music on modern instruments and in a modern concept, and those playing on period instruments taking performance practices of past ages into consideration. However, today this barrier seems to have fallen, as a consequence of which exciting collaborations are being shaped, for example, that witnessed between Capella Gabetta coming from the world of early music and trumpet player Gábor Boldoczki who works in a traditional environment. While the orchestra use Baroque instruments, Boldoczki plays on a modern trumpet and a four-valve flugelhorn with extremely soft, singing tone, developed specially for this cooperation. Their programme, which takes us to Baroque France, consists of works reorchestrated partly from original compositions and partly specifically for this occasion.
