I am not exaggerating when I say that, whatever I achieved as a musician, I owe more to Leó Weiner than to anyone else. ... To me, he remains an outstanding example of what a musician should be.

Mozart’s Journey to Prague – the title of Eduard Mörike’s romantic novella could even serve as that of this concert because all the Mozart works in the programme are the pride of the Czech capital: the premiere of Don Giovanni taking its name from the overture was staged in the city in 1787, as was the D major symphony that bears the name of the capital. The concert aria for soprano voice starting Bella fiamma was written in Prague in the same year, while Anton Stadler, for whom Mozart wrote the Clarinet Concerto, similarly debuted this magnificent work in the city in 1791.

Due to Martin Fröst's illness, Kevin Spagnolo will perform on clarinet at the concert of Swedish Chamber Orchestra. The ensemble will be conducted by concertmaster Katarina Andreasson. The programme of the concert is unchanged, with the participation of the world-famous soprano singer Mojca Erdmann.
