Please allow me that, apart from my regrettable ignorance of the Hungarian language, I remain Magyar in my heart and soul from birth to the grave. As a consequence, I earnestly wish to further the progress of Hungarian music.

Almost everyone has an opinion about the past two years of enforced distance learning, just as they have about cultural events being broadcast online. Whereas the latter, even if it did not provide a truly ideal experience, was able to at least partially recall and replace those intellectual-artistic impressions without which one is only half a person, the former won virtually nobody’s favour. Least of all the students themselves, who were sometimes forced into rather bizarre situations by the epidemic: for example, students of music schools found themselves in the weird situation of having to attend orchestra, chamber music and choir rehearsals without being actually present and working as a group. Happily, however, real work started up again as soon as the situation permitted, and the audience in the Solti Hall can be among the first to witness these results.
