Joshua Bell is one of the most celebrated violinists of our age. Although over a career spanning nearly four decades he has appeared in the company of virtually all the best orchestras in the world, he remains active giving concerts as a soloist, chamber musician and as conductor. Indeed, not even the pandemic could stop him: he presented online world-class performances from his home. We can welcome him again to the stage of the Liszt Academy in spring 2022. This time his partner is pianist Shai Wosner, who has achieved a significant international reputation with his artistic skills, authenticity and creativity. The repertoire he keeps in hand reflects a virtuosity and intellectual curiosity that has made him a favourite of audiences and critics alike.

Joshua Bell has tested positive for covid, so tonight's concert will be performed by Barnabás Kelemen with the same programme.
