Péter Kiss (piano)

Péter Kiss is an innovative pianist in domestic music who is not only well known on the contemporary music and chamber music scene but also as an artist who, through his bold selections of works and concepts, frequently gives new meaning to even classical works. For this recital, the Junior Prima and Artisjus Prize musician lays out three masterpieces by Johannes Brahms, each of which demands titanic strengths, a brilliant technique and profound musicality. There are very few artists who would dare to undertake these three sonatas in a single concert; it is not by chance that the hugely experienced Robert Schumann called them “disguised symphonies” and predicted a great future for young Brahms. It is a very special occasion when we get the chance to take an in-depth look into the workshop of the composer genius who died 125 years ago and hear those opuses that launched Brahms on the pathway towards becoming one of the greatest musicians of the 19th century.
