In January 2023, Valentin Magyar and the Korossy Quartet performed Dvořák and Brahms’s piano quintet to great acclaim in the Solti Hall. In their 2023/24 joint series, the three concerts will feature four additional piano quintets, which can rightly be considered the greatest masterpieces of the genre: works by Franck, Elgar, and Shostakovich. The final concert of the series will feature compositions by Shostakovich and Mozart. Both masters believed in preserving the classical values and forms of music, while also demonstrating through their works that tradition can also mean development and renewal.
