Guidelines on photographing and filming at the Liszt Academy

25 October 2023

We consider it very important that neither the concentration of the perforers nor the concert experience of our audience is disturbed. To this end, photography and filming at the Liszt Academy is only permitted with prior permission and in accordance with the following rules. We ask that photographers and cameramen wear dark, modest clothing and keep the permission received by email with them.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Photographers are requested to move slowly and quietly. The use of flash and AF light is prohibited, and cameras must be set to silent mode. Before the start of the event, it is necessary to consult with the stage manager and the event organizer in the backstage.

If no multi-camera video recording is made at a given concert, photographers may work in the following locations:

- on the ground floor behind the last row as well as moving up to the 5th row on the two side aisles;

- on the first-floor side balconies behind the rows of seats and on the staircases closer to the stage;

- on the second-floor student balcony.

If a video recording is being made at a given concert, the photographer should negotiate about the available areas with the chief camera operator, the stage manager, and the event organizer before the start of the concert.

Photographers are not allowed on stage, and may only attend choir seats after prior consultation and with special permission, at the request of the orchestra and/or the conductor/soloist.

VIDEO

Please be aware that you can only film from the last row with the camera on a tripod, and that it should be placed near the seats assigned to disabled people. Crews must not move during the performance, they are only allowed to leave the hall between two pieces. It is strictly prohibited to place any equipment or setup in the emergency routes and exits of the concert hall. If you require multi-camera recording, please contact the AVISO studio for permission (their contact details can be found by clicking here at the bottom of the page).

DIPLOMA CONCERT

No more than 5 minutes of the footage can be broadcasted or shared with the public on own website or in social media. Any other professional or commercial usage of any part of the footage is allowed only with the special permission of the Communication Directorate prior notice.
