The Liszt Academy’s upcoming spring season features renowned international and Hungarian performers. Spanning from January to June, the season promises a diverse array of chamber concerts, solo performances, jazz, and folk music concerts.

Conductor Péter Halász, first conductor (Kapellmeister) at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf and principal guest conductor at the Hungarian State Opera, is a regular guest at many domestic and foreign institutions. The artist was a member of the jury at the Bartók World Competition for the first time this year, which helped him gain extremely important impressions in several ways.

Lilia Pocitari was awarded the first prize of 22,000 euros at the gala event of the Liszt Academy’s 2023 World Bartók Competition on Sunday.

The delegation – led by Hajime Furuta, the governor of Gifu Prefecture – held discussions with Dr. Andrea Vigh, rector at the Liszt Academy, about continuing the nearly 30-year-old cooperation as well as the participation of the institution at a festival in Japan next year.

After the order of appearance for the entrants was determined, the 2023 Bartók World Competition for Violinists at the Liszt Academy of Music, with a total prize fund of 46,000 euros, began on 3 September with the preliminaries and will end on 10 September with the award ceremony and gala, bringing together 32 young talents from 16 countries.

The Evaluation Report of the ‘’PRESTO’’ online tool that equips teachers for remote music education was awarded an outstanding 96/100 score and officially labelled “Good Practice” by the competent EU Agency.

The pre-selection jury of this year's competition for violinists–Kristóf Baráti, Géza Kapás and Péter Kováts–decided to let 41 competitors take part in the live rounds.
