Liszt Academy introduced a new service accessible from your home

A defining figure, a head of department who has just resigned his post, bade farewell in a special birthday concert. Kálmán Dráfi represents the oldest traditions of the Liszt Academy, the Liszt–Cziffra line, and has mentored a string of exceptional young musicians who are among the greatest stars on the Hungarian and international musical scenes. As a pianist, he still plays with the same intensity, elegance and emotionality as ever, something that makes him unique in the world today and has earned him success, competition awards and (now rare) concert recordings since his youth.

Opening hours of the ticket office at the Liszt Academy as of 16 October 2020

Due to the significant decrease in the number of ticket purchases, our ticket office will operate under reduced opening hours from 16 October until further notice.


Classical Music Composition Roadshow: the national program achieved its objective

The Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, with the support of Artisjus held composing workshops for high school students in four country towns – three workshops in each town. The most successful works were presented on 2 October at the Liszt Academy.


Renowned artists in new teaching positions at the Liszt Academy

In the current academic year, several lecturers were awarded new positions at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. This includes a new leader for the Keyboard and Harp Department and the Violin Sub-Department of the Strings Department.

Dr. Andrea Vigh, Rector of the Liszt Academy, Dr. Pál Richter, head of the Department of Folk Music at the university and the director of the Institute of Musicology, and Balázs Kocsár, chief music director at the State Opera House attended the joint wreath-laying ceremony.
