Liszt Academy’s event began on Sunday evening with the opening statement of Éva Marton, followed by the drawing of the order in which the 56 contestant will perform in the preliminaries.

A total of 106 female and 90 male singers from thirty-two countries around the world submitted valid applications for Liszt Academy's competition, which offers prizes amounting to 70,000 euros.

World-famous British violinist Daniel Hope, the young but internationally recognized Brazilian male soprano Bruno de Sá, and French string quartet Quatuor Ébène are among the performers at the concerts of the Liszt Academy in autumn 2024. Tickets are available at an extraordinary discount until the end of May.

Renowned researchers from nine countries will present their latest findings at a conference open to the public on 16-17 May.

The Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music has made significant progress in the QS rankings by subject: with its 22nd place in the performing arts category, it is the world’s highest-ranked Hungarian university.

Organizers of the 6th Éva Marton International Singing Competition and the 8th Bartók World Competition for composers welcome applications for both events from around the world.

Applications for the contest – being started between 1- 8 September 2024, with total prize money amounting to €70,000 – can be submitted by sending in video recordings until 13 May.
