A new temporary exhibition in the Liszt Ferenc Memorial Museum and Research Centre: Franz Liszt in Austria

The new international exhibition presents Liszt’s many connections with Austria, exploring the impact of the tradition of the Viennese virtuoso school on his early career, from his childhood in Doborján (now Raiding) throughout his school years in Vienna to the start of his career as a pianist-composer. As a result of an international cooperation of the European Liszt Museums, the exhibition features rarely seen documents and manuscripts.

Oscar-winning composer Tan Dun’s harp piece, Nu Shu was presented to an audience of eight thousand at the Shenzhen Stadium, featuring harpist Mira Farkas, sponsee of the Artist Management Office of the Liszt Academy. Among other things, we asked the young musician about her successful concert.

Liszt Academy students gain victory at Weiner Leó National Chamber Music Competition

The ensemble formed by students of Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music Csongor Korossy-Khayll (violin), Kristóf Tóth (violin), Julianna Albert (viola) and Gergely Devich (cello) won the category ’string quartets’ at Weiner Leó National Chamber Music Competition. Guest students of the Academy Sebastian Wyss (violin) and Tony Chen (piano) triumphed at the category ’violin-piano sonata’.
