On the 140th anniversary of the birth of Béla Bartók, a commemoration of the milestone anniversaries of a career, of understanding, of love: László Vikárius, professor at the Liszt Academy of Music and head of the Bartók Archives of the Institute for Musicology, evokes our great predecessor.

In 2021, the board of trustees awarded the Bartók–Pásztory Prize to opera singer Andrea Rost and composer-bassoonist Zoltán Kovács. In line with traditions, the awarding ceremony was held online on Bartók's birthday.

The violinist and the ensemble made a poetic recording with the programme of their cancelled tour, which will debute on March 27 on an online platform.

With the stated intent of establishing a tradition, the Liszt Academy and the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra is launching a series of programmes called The Day of Hungarian Classical Music on May 30, commemorating the birthday of the late pianist and conductor Zoltán Kocsis. The organisers have invited several ensembles and educational institutions across the country to participate in the event.

The awardees are Gergely Barta, Borbála Dobozy, Sándor Falvai, Zoltán Farkas “Batyu”, Miklós Harazdy, Armand Kautzky, Katalin Kokas and Dr. Zsuzsanna Domokos.

Violinist Vilmos Szabadi, associate professor at the Liszt Academy, to hold online classes for two months at the invitation of the Singapore Violin Festival.

The Gustav Mahler Research Center has been established by the University of Innsbruck and the Gustav Mahler "Euregio" Cultural Centre in Italy. Lóránt Péteri, head of the Musicology Department at the Liszt Academy, also became a member of the advisory board of the institution established in Toblach.
