Scævola, the work of the young composition graduate of the Liszt Academy, Szabolcs Mátyássy - winner of the opera composition contest of the 2016 Bartók Plus Opera Festival - was performed by Andrea Rost and the opera students of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music directed by András Almási-Tóth at this year’s opera festival at the Miskolc National Theatre on 21 June.

The image of the Bartók World Competition and Festival has been awarded the Silver Blade prize in the category Design Solutions/Image and Logo Design issued by the Association of Communication Agencies in Hungary for the 18th time this year.

31 May is the application deadline for the instrumental and composition masterclasses of the Kurtág-Ligeti Workshop - hosted at the Liszt Academy between 17 and 21 July.
