The assistant professor of the Liszt Academy received an award in the under-30 composers’ category at one of the world’s most prestigious radio contemporary music contests.

A concert entitled “Through the Valley of the Shadow of Death...” organized within the frame of the memorial year marking the 70th anniversary of the Holocaust was held in the Liszt Academy on 11 May 2014.

In spring 2014, Dénes Várjon will give two orchestral concerts with the Concerto Budapest in the Grand Hall of the Liszt Academy. In these concerts he will be performing all five Beethoven piano concertos. Szabolcs Molnár asked the pianist while he was preparing.

Guest professors this spring are Guy Ben-Ziony, Michael Vaiman, Tamás Varga, Ildikó Kertész, Nelson Goerner and Sylviane Deferne, as well as Nicholas Daniel.

The Budapest buildings of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music will be closed between 19-21 April 2014.

In the following weeks many great pianists – including Gergely Bogányi and Tamás Érdi – will grace the stage of Liszt Academy’s Grand Hall. International Symposium on Singing in Music Education will be held on 23-27. April 2014 at Liszt Academy Concert Centre. Registration deadline: 14 April.

More than 130 young opera singers from 30 countries have registered applications for the Liszt Academy’s first major international competition organized by itself.
