On 8 October, the world-renowned British violinist and his chamber music partners will perform ’’Air—A Baroque Journey’’, a selection of special pieces by virtuoso composers of the 17th century at Liszt Academy’s Grand Hall.
Alongside Vivaldi, Handel and Leclair, they will also include works by other baroque composers of the first golden age of the violin, little known to the general public.

The programme is largely based on Daniel Hope's 2009 Deutsche Grammophon recording of the same name. Listen it here!
In reviews of the prestigious BBC Music and Gramophone magazines, ’’Air—A Baroque Journey’’ is appraised as ’’a striking demonstration of the sheer variety and invention of Baroque violin composers’’, while Daniel Hope’s and his fellow musician’s performance style as „by no means 'period' performances… they are admirably stylish’’, while the listener can sense that’’the bright sense of discovery once felt by these composers is being experienced just as much by their modern-day interpreters’’.
This time, the South African-born British violinist, once mentored by Yehudi Menuhin, will be joined by Simos Papanas (violin), Nicola Mosca (cello), Emanuele Forni (lute), Markellos Chryssicos (harpsichord) and Michael Metzler (percussion) on stage of the Liszt Academy.
