Once again, Liszt Academy offers specialties, rare musical formations, and excellent performers. Building on the popular season ticket offers of previous seasons, thematic concerts will entice music lovers to sign up for the next experience in this renowned, elegant palace of music which boasts unrivalled acoustics. In the new season just about to start, the legendary Voit & Söhne organ of the Great Hall will once again play an important role. Continuing the traditions of the sold-out Organ Inauguration season ticket, this year’s Organ in the Centre season ticket features Latvian organ artist Iveta Apkalna whose programme will start with the works of Bach and Mendelssohn and finish with contemporary Latvian composers in a unique mixture, Martin Schmeding and the New Franz Liszt Chamber Choir will explore the questions of life and death, while two young organist-composers, András Gábor Virágh and Márton Horváth will recall the spirit of Hans Koessler, former organ and composition professor of Liszt Academy.
The brand new season ticket, Bach in Solo promises a truly unique experience featuring Bach’s well-known, popular solo suites for cello, keyboard instruments and violin, performed by three young, world-renowned Hungarian musicians, István Várdai, Zoltán Fejérvári and Barnabás Kelemen.

The audience will enjoy the special formations and international star ensembles playing along with Hungarian and foreign solo artists. Another unique season ticket, Silent Strings will feature instruments rarely used in solo performances, bringing them closer to the audience: the lute, the harpsichord and the guitar. The artists of these three concerts are true experimenters in their own fields: Edin Karamazov became widely-known as a contributing artist in one of Sting’s albums, but he also performed with renowned classical ensembles. Harpsichord artist Mahan Esfahani continues to demonstrate his commitment to early and new music with his recordings. And young Scottish guitarist Sean Shibe will turn up the volume just a bit, as he also plays the electric version of his chosen instrument.

The well-known and popular Orchestra in the Centre season ticket once again offers outstanding ensembles for each occasion. Jos van Immerseel’s ensemble, Anima Eterna Brugge will play for the first time in Budapest, with the symphonies and orchestra-accompanied songs of German Romantic masters as the focal theme of the concert. The Anima Musicae Chamber Orchestra featuring Kristóf Baráti will perform less known Beethoven romances from the turn of the 18th-19th century. The Vienna-Berlin Chamber Orchestra will arrive in Budapest with one of its favourite piano artists, Denis Matsuev. This time, the European Chamber Orchestra will feature Izabella Simon and Dénes Várjon in their Bach, Mozart and Beethoven concertos. The pianist couple are also the artistic directors of the kamara.hu festival, organized for the fifth time this year, featuring a range of exciting works from Bach to Kurtág, from harp solos to choir works, and from music to literature. This year, the festival’s program will be centred around the strange story of Hungarian author Antal Szerb’s novel, Journey by Moonlight.

The Chamber Music, So Close season ticket, that has by now became tradition, professors and alumni will perform in duet, trio, quartet and quintet formations in Solti Hall. The concerts of the Talent Obliges season ticket will feature young artists who demonstrate their talent with thematic evenings built around the personality of a composer. The Liszt Kidz Academy matinées will feature musicians and dancers, who present Hungarian folk dance, the waltz, the historical dance and the Spanish flamenco and those composers who became addicts to this dance music. Exciting stories, outstanding music and spectacular dances await kids between 10-15 years and their parents, grandparents.

Liszt Academy is the natural environment of classical music, and our season tickets always offer a unique experience.
