The Liszt Academy Hosted the First Summit of Singularity University
The Silicon Valley’s Singularity University held its first Summit in Budapest at the Liszt Academy on November 15-16, 2013.
The SUMMIT EUROPE conference was the first event held by Singularity University outside the United States. The acclaimed Silicon Valley institute founded by NASA, Google and several other world leading companies focuses on the opportunities and challenges posed by exponential technological development in a singular way. The aim of the university is to promote global economic development and to efficiently incorporate the innovative cutting edge startups of the technology industry into the international economic circulation.
The SUMMIT EUROPE conference was a first of its kind program organized by SU especially for executives, focusing on the opportunities and challenges posed by exponential technologies (artificial intelligence, robotics, security, pharmacology, neurology, biotechnology, energy, 3D printing, bioinformatics, etc.) and their use.
Singularity University chose Budapest due to its role as the headquarters of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). And it couldn't have found a more honorable conference venue than the wholly renewed Liszt Academy, or as the former Rector of the Liszt Academy of Music, Government Commissioner András Batta likes to call it, the ‘silicon valley of music' in the heart of the Hungarian capital.
