The most important class, however, for me and for hundreds of other Hungarian musicians, was the chamber-music class. From about the age of fourteen, and until graduation from the Academy, all instrumentalists except the heavy-brass players and percussionists had to participate in this course. Presiding over it for many years was the composer Leó Weiner, who thus exercised an enormous influence on three generations of Hungarian musicians.

The opening hours of the Liszt Academy during the autumn holidays

21 October 2016

This is to inform our audience that the Main Building of the Liszt Academy (Liszt Ferenc Square) will be open between 23 October and 1 November.

The ticket office of the Liszt Academy Concert Centre will keep to the usual opening hours, related to the scheduled concerts, on nearly every day of break (the only exception being Friday, 28 October, when the ticket office will close somewhat earlier, at 5pm). The guided tours will also take place as usual.
