Conductor: Sesto Quatrini

Hailing from Rome, conductor-composer Sesto Quatrini, who is in his mid-30s, is one of the most spontaneous artists of our day. Stars such as Roberto Alagna and Elina Garanca have been overwhelmingly positive in their comments about him, while internationally-renowned conductor Fabio Luisi reckons he has all the abilities needed to create a sublime connection between singers, orchestral musicians and theatre directors: it is not by chance, therefore, that Quatrini’s career as an opera director has rocketed in the past few years. At this Liszt Academy concert he conducts compositions by Italian composers alongside Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G major, with Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, a specialist in the art of Ravel, as soloist.
