War, youth and fulfilment - this is the curve and message of kamara.hu’s second concert and the festival as a whole. The concert begins with one of Mozart's few pieces composed in minor, the tragic Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 21 (in E minor), alluding to the Little Prince’s relationship with World War II. Shostakovich's work is also in E minor, but these two planets in E minor could not be further apart. The Russian author composed the trio for a friend, and this friendship is reflected in the music as well as in the lines of Saint-Exupéry, who also dedicated his novel to a good friend. Moreover, Shostakovich's work is also an imprint of the same age, as it appeared only one year after the publication of The Little Prince. After the intermission, Schubert’s lyrical piano work – written shortly before his death – will be performed. With similar characteristics the first two movements of Dvořák’s piano quintet is a perfect follow-up. The energetic Scherzo and Finale will ensure the cheerful ending of the concert.
