Conductor: Gilbert Varga
With this concert, we pay homage to the violinist, conductor and music educator, Tibor Varga, born 100 years ago. While talking about his father's personality traits, the chief conductor of the Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra, Gilbert Varga, pointed out how much Tibor Varga had focussed on the future and on talent development, which he had in mind when he invited five of the most gifted child prodigies of the violin. Tibor Varga had placed great emphasis on the search for young talents and the unfolding of their gift. Now, these teenage award-winners of the violin carry the century-old tradition of the legendary Hungarian violin school in their playing; the rich concert programme was compiled from their repertoires. These young musicians will certainly be in the vanguard of the most acclaimed 21st-century violinists. Two South Korean violinists, one of whom lives in the US, a Singaporian, a Swiss and a Hungarian violinist living in Vienna, are uniting here for this concert. Multifaceted personalities from all over the world will stand in the limelight. The National Cultural Fund of Hungary funds this production.
