In the Contrasts chamber music series, students and young artists of the Liszt Academy offer a glimpse into the institution’s vibrant chamber music life. Maurice Ravel’s septet blends the colors of winds, strings, and harp into a spellbinding musical tableau. American composer Gerald Cohen creates an intimate sound world by uniting the timbres of harp, clarinet, and cello. The glowing intensity and quicksilver scherzo of Mendelssohn’s String Quartet in F minor are sure to touch every listener’s heart.
