The pre-selection jury of this year's competition for violinists–Kristóf Baráti, Géza Kapás and Péter Kováts–decided to let 41 competitors take part in the live rounds.

Ninety-seven applications from twenty-six countries have been received for Liszt Academy’s violin edition of the Bartók World Competition, the pre-selection jury will decide by 22 June who will be invited to the live rounds in September.

Liszt Academy and the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Gábor Káli will pay tribute to the memory of Zoltán Kocsis and to Hungarian classical music and its composers at their traditional gala evening on 30 May in the Grand Hall.

The application form has been published, which means that young violinists can apply for Bartók World Competition 2023 from now on.

The Liszt Academy in Budapest, as the organizer, has announced the Bartók World Competition – Violin 2023 with a total prize of 44,000 euros. The jury will again consist of world-renowned musicians.

The world-famous conductor received the certificate from President Dr. Andrea Vigh.
