STUDIO 5 Chamber Music Concert Presented by Liszt Academy

The spring concert by the STUDIO 5 composers’ group features works for cello and piano. Máté Bella, Balázs D. Kecskés and Roland Szentpáli each bring along a previously composed work of their own, and the latter composer’s piece shows, among other things, that every season is suitable for a casual fling, except autumn. The other two members of the composers’ group, András Gábor Virágh and Bence Kutrik, each contribute a new work. Duo Domo will be the evening’s featured ensemble. Domonkos Hartmann and Domonkos Csabay have been making music together since 2019, and in this short period of time their repertoire has grown to include not only Classical-Romantic masterpieces but also contemporary music. When they won the Grand Prix and the Audience Prize at the 17th International Chamber Music Competition in Lyon two years ago, they played a composition by Thomas Adès in the final, alongside pieces by Brahms and Kodály. The cello and piano pieces are linked by short reflections on each other’s works, performed by Nóra Baráth on English horn.
